Your PDF is uploaded over an encrypted HTTPS connection, redacted on our server, and then deleted automatically within an hour, along with the result and the page previews. Only your own browser session can reach your files while they are there, and we never look at them or share them.
It is really gone. Many tools draw a white or black box over the text, which leaves the words in the file where anyone can select and copy them. We delete the glyphs from the PDF content stream, blank the pixels of scanned pages inside the box, drop any annotation, form field or link the box covers, and strip the document title, author and keywords. The file is then re-opened and checked; if anything is still recoverable, you get an error instead of a download.
